Q: How long can I hire a cellphone for?
A: The rental duration of the device is solely dependant on the user. It could be for a period of just 1 day or 6 months and sometimes even longer.

Q: I cannot make international calls. What must I do?

Q: If there is no HSDPA signal will I be able to use 3G and GPRS?
A: yes, when the signal drops, you will be able to access the 3G, Edge and GPRS network in the same manner as with the 3G data cards.

Q: My cellphone does not want to make calls, but I can receive calls. What is wrong?

Q: What do I dial if I am looking for a number?
A: Dial 200 from an MTN phone

Q: What do I do if I PUK my phone?

A: 3G stands for ‘third generation’. Q: Which type of satellite phone should I rent?
A: We offer Iridium and Immarsat Satellite phones. Depending on the location you will be travelling to, we will provide you with the best phone for that region. There are some areas where one system works better than the other.

Q: Does a satellite phone work just like a cell phone?
A: Yes it does, however you need to be outside with the phone under a clear and open sky in order to make or receive calls. The phone must have a direct  line of sight with the satellite for a good connection.

Q: Will the satellite phone work inside a cruise ship cabin or inside a car?
A: No, you must be on deck of a cruise ship or outside in order to connect with the satellite.

Q: What is the battery life of a satellite phone?
A: The talktime for the Iridium phone is 3.6 hours and standby is approximately 3 days depending on the usage of the phone.
The talktime for the Immarsat phone is 2h40 minutes and standby time is also approximately 3 days depending on the airtime usage of the phone.

Q: How long does it take to charge the battery of a satellite phone?
A: Approximately 3-4 hours for a full charge
